Bu tez Soğuk Savaş sürecinde, Amerika Birleşik devletleri ve Sovyet Sosyalist Cumhuriyetler Birliği arasında geçen ideolojik ve kültürel mücadeleyi film ve sinema alanlarında yürütülen propaganda aktivitelerine odaklanarak analiz etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. İki kutuplu bir uluslararası sistem içerisinde, kültürel ve ideolojik hegemonyanın sağlanması, sistem çerçevesinde insanların ve toplumların kalplerinin ve zihinlerinin kazanılması önem taşımaktadır. Bu bağlamda, istihbarat servislerinin rolü, propaganda, kültür, kimlik, ve karar verme başlıkları altında propaganda aktivitelerinin ve politik mesajların etki ve hedefleri incelenmek istenmiştir. Beş ana başlık altında yer alan kategoriler çerçevesinde, ilgili alan, ve konseptlerin propaganda ve karar verme süreci ile ilgili bağlarının kurulması noktasında, anlamları ve içerikleri analiz edilmiş bu analizler doğrultusunda ise dönem çerçevesinde seçilen Amerikan ve Sovyet yapımı sinema yapıtları incelenmiştir.<br/> |

This thesis aims to analyze the ideological and cultural conflict that took place between the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics by focusing on the propaganda activities executed through film and cinema. In a bipolar international system, establishing a cultural and ideological hegemony is a critical element for both survival and winning the hearts and minds of the people. Main categories such as the role of intelligence services, and relationship between propaganda, culture, identity, and decision-making are analyzed with the aim of understanding the initial effect and aim of the political propaganda messages. In each category, definitions, and perspective attached to the respective concepts, and fields are analyzed to establish the connection between them and the cinema. |
