Bu tez, Cumhuriyet sonrası Ankara'daki 20.yy. pasajlarına ilişkin bir çalışmadır. Çalışmanın 'yeri' Ankara'dır; yerin incelenmekte olduğu dönemsel aralık ise sosyo-ekonomik, kültürel, siyasal alanda köklü değişikliklerin yaşandığı 1950-1980 yıllarını kapsamaktadır. Bu çalışmanın konusunda Ankara, ulusun kalbi olarak, yeni 'başkenti' idealize eden, ideolojik, sosyal, bürokratik, siyasal yapılanmanın merkezinde yer almaktadır. Kapsamına ise Yenişehir'i, kentin nüvesini ele alan araştırma, alanını gündelik yaşam pratiği üzerinden yapılandırmaktadır. Modern kent yaratma arzusunda, yeni bir 'yüz' tarifleyen Yenişehir ve kentsel omurga 'Atatürk Bulvarı', kentsel mekânda yaşanan sosyal hareketliliğin ve ticari eğilimlerin yeni mekânsal karşılıklarını oluşturmuştur. Böylece, tezin örnek incelemeleri olan kentin iç mekânı pasajlar, kentsel mekânın uzantısı olarak gündelik yaşam pratiğinin, dönemin okuma araçlarıdır. Seçili pasajlar aracılığıyla bu araştırma, kamu erkinin sunmakta olduğu anıtsal tipolojilerin dışında kalan bir okumayı önermekte ve 'kentli perspektifine' yönlendirmektedir. Tezin örnek incelemeleri, Kocabeyoğlu Pasajı, Ülkealan Pasajı, Zafer Pasajı ve Soysal Pasaj'larıdır. Bu kapsamda, örnek yapı incelemeleri sosyal boyutu ile geçmiş ve gelecek arasında bir belgeleme niteliğindedir. Teknik boyutu ile de yapı belgelemeleri oluşturan ve bunları gelecek nesillere taşımayı amaçlayan yapısal analizdir. 1950 yılı itibariyle, siyasi, iktisadi, kapitalizm örgütlenmesinin küresel niteliğinde yoğunlaşma, model kent önerisi Ankara'nın çehresine ve çeperlerine etki etmiş, sosyo-ekonomik dönüşümü beraberinde getirmiştir. Böylece Yenişehir, 1950'li yılların ikinci yarısı itibariyle bireysel/kolektif gündelik yaşantının kent içi rotasyonunu desteklemiş, kentli kültürü ve batı kaynaklı tüketim kalıplarının oluşumunda etken rol oynamıştır. İthal ikamesine yönelik sanayileşme stratejisi, başkentlik işlevi edinen Ankara'nın demografik niteliklerinin değişimine ve gündelik alışkanlıklarının dönüşümüne sebep olmuştur. Bu bağlamda, yenilenen anlam durumu ve sosyal mekânın oluşumunda kentsel/kamusal iç mekân pasajlar dönüşümün izlemcisi olarak, ara mekân tarifleyen, 'yere özgü' ve 'yerin kendisinin' ürettiği örnekleri ile tezin kapsamında incelenen dönem temsilleridir. Araştırmanın yöntemi, alanında gerçekleştirilen yeni bir modeldir. Kentsel/kamusal iç mekân deneyiminin kaynağını 1950-1980 yılları arası belleği üzerinden yapılandıran karma metodoloji, nitel veri analizi yönteminde değerlendirilmiştir. Modelin özünü bilginin elde edilimi, üretimi ve geleceğe aktarımı oluşturmaktadır. Özgün değerlendirme yöntemi ve karma metodoloji kapsamına, örnek pasaj yapı incelemelerini, sözlü tanıklığı almış, kuramsal altyapısını gündelik yaşam üzerinden temellendirmiştir. Gündelik yaşam pratikleri, tezin yazarı tarafından belirlenen alt başlıklar ve kuramsal alt yapı ile irdelenmiştir. Böylece Yenişehir'in anılan dönem belleği, bireysel ve kolektif boyutu ile değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Sözlü tanıklığın kendisi, mimarlık tarihi ve tarih yazımında aktarılmayan sosyal tarihin ara kesitini sunmuş, dönemsel temsil aracı olarak 'sıradan olanın belleğini' değerlendirmeye almıştır. Mikro ölçekli kentli gözlemi, kent hikâyelerinin aktarımını gerçekleştirmek için bir araçtır. Resmi tarih yazımı verileri ve alternatif kaynaklar aracılığıyla kentsel yaşamın zenginliğini sağlayan ve kentin parçası olan pasajların fiziksel, anlamsal nitelikleri değerlendirilmiş, Yenişehir ve kentlinin gündelik yaşantısı incelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, çalışmanın ana hedefinde değişen, dönüşen, yok-olan bellek öğeleri, gündelik rutin ve kentli yaşantısının mekânsal karşılıkları yer almış, pasajların kentsel/kamusal gücü, potansiyeli tartışılmıştır. |

This research was conducted in the post-Republican period of the 20th century in Ankara. It is a study about arcades. The study takes 'place' is Ankara. Regarding this study, Ankara is at the center of ideological, social, bureaucratic, and political structuring that makes the new 'capital' ideal as the heart of the nation. In its scope, the study, which deals with the routines of the city, is structuring its area on the basis of everyday life practice. Yenişehir and urban spine 'Atatürk Boulevard', which defines a new 'face' in the desire to create a modern city, has created new spatialiaties of social mobility and commercial approaches in urban space. Thus, urban interiors, which are examples of thesis examinations, are the means of everyday life as an extension of urban space and reading tools of the period. Thesis subject studies are Kocabeyoğlu, Ülkealan, Zafer and Soysal Arcades. Through arcades, this research suggests an alternative reading to the monumental typologies which is publicly presented. In this context, the sample structure is a documentary between the social dimension and the past and the future. It is a structural analysis that constitutes building documentation with its technical dimension and aims to carry them to future generations. As of 1950, the concentration of the global nature of political, economic, capitalist organization influenced the model city proposition to the face and walls of Ankara. Thus, it brought about socio-economic transformation. As of the second half of the 1950s, Yenişehir supported the urban rotation of individual / collective daily life and played a key role in the formation of urban culture and western consumption patterns. The industrialization strategy for import substitution led to the change of the demographic characteristics of Ankara, which acquired the capital function, and the transformation of its daily habits. In this context, the renewed sense of state and the urban / public interior spaces in the formation of the social space describe as the viewer of transformation. Examples which are produced and examined within the thesis by 'place-specific' and 'place itself' are period representations. The method of research is a new model in the field. The mixed methodology that structured the source of the urban / public interior experience over the memory of 1950-1980 was evaluated in the qualitative data analysis method. The model's core is acquisition of transferring production and transfer of information to the future. Within the scope of original evaluation method and the mixed methodology, sample arcade typology studies and oral testimony are basis on the theoretical infrastructure of everyday life. Practices of everyday life are examined with the subtitles and theoretical background determined by the thesis writer. Thus, the periodic memory of Yenişehir was taken into consideration by its individual and collective dimension. The oral testimony itself has presented the cross section of social history that has not been quoted in the history of architecture and history, and has taken 'the memory of the ordinary' as a tool of periodical representation. Urban observation is a tool for carrying out the transmission of urban stories. Through the use of official history writing and alternative sources, the physical and semantic qualities of the arcades, which are enriching the urban life and which are part of the city, were evaluated and the daily life of Yenişehir and the urban user was examined. In conclusion, the main purpose of the study is to discuss the elements of memory, that is changing, transforming, and disappearing.
