Watkins Co. from 1923 to 1943 died this morning [Nov. 5, 1957] at Bradenton, Fla. where he and his wife spent winters for several years; their home, except for the winter season was in Henderson, N.C.; he was born in Masalipatam, India on July 16, 1886; widely known as an expert in the perfumery and soap field; authored two books by himself, "Soapmaking manual" and "Modern soapmaking"; graduated from Columbia in 1907, receiving his Master's degree there in1908 and his Ph.D. in chemistry in 1911; joined the Watkins Co. as chief chemist in 1923)
