Mimarlık varoluşundan bu yana evrimsel süreçler içinde değişip dönüşür. Mimarlığın ne olduğu ve mimarın ne yaptığı yeniden yeniden sorgulanır, sürekli olarak mimarlığa dair yeni düşünme ve yeni eyleme biçimleri, yeni kavramlar üretilir. Mimarlığın evrimsel sürecinden bir kesit oluşturan güncellik bağlamında ise hem mimarlığı alışıldık şekillerde ve bilindik içeriklerle üretme olanağının daralması hem de mimarın kabul görmüş kimliğinin değişime uğramasıyla birlikte mimarlığın yaratım alanı ve bu alanı var eden yaratım eylemliliği sorunlu bir hal alır. Bu doğrultuda bu tez mimarlığın yaratımını temel yaratım alanı olan tasarım mekanı bağlamında inceler. Tasarım mekanının, mimarlığı var eden dinamiklerin bütünleştiği, çok yönlü ve çok boyutlu bir yaratım alanına dönüşme potansiyeli taşıdığını savlar. Bu potansiyelin ise tasarım mekanının deneyselliğine bağlı olarak etkinleştiğini ileri sürer ve tasarım mekanını deneyselliği üzerinden yeniden düşünmeyi önerir. Buna yönelik olarak tasarım mekanının bağlamsal konumlanışını sorunlaştırarak, çağdaşlık- güncellik ekseninde bir tartışma geliştirir. İki bölümden oluşan tez, ilk bölümde tasarım mekanı güncel görünümleriyle ilişkili olarak kavramsallaştırır ve tasarım mekanının konumlanışını sorunlaştırılarak, ona yönelik bağlamsal bir oluş olarak çağdaşlık kavrayışını yeniden inşa eder. İkinci bölümde ise, çağdaşlık- güncellik ekseninde kurulan tartışma bağlamında tasarım mekanının kurulumunu ve eylemliliğini deneysel yaratım felsefesi bağlamında ele alır. Böylelikle, mimarlığın tasarım mekânında yaratımına yönelik ilk bölümde varoluşsal ve bağlamsal açılımlar sağlanırken, ikinci bölümde yapısal ve eylemsel içerikler oluşturulur. Tasarım mekanında yaratıma ilişkin oluşturulan bu açılım ve içerikler doğrultusunda ise, farklı kurguların üremesine olanak veren, yöntemsel ve araçsal referanslar sağlayan açık bir bilgi yapısı oluşturulur.

Since its existence, architecture has evolved in evolutionary processes. What the architecture is and what the architect does is re-questioned over and over again, new forms of thinking and acting and new concepts are constantly produced. In the context of currency, which constitutes a cross-section of the evolutionary process of architecture, along with both the narrowing of the possibility of creating architecture with customary and familiar contents, and the change in the identity of the architect, the field of creation of architecture and the creation activity that establishes this field become problematic. In this context, this thesis examines the creation of architecture in the context of design space, which constitutes the main field of creation. It asserts that the design space has the potential to turn into a field of integration that allows for the creation of architecture within the interaction of all dynamics that have created it. It argues that this potential becomes effective depending on the experimentality of the design space. And it proposes rethinking design space in terms of its experimentality. Accordingly it develops a discussion in the axis of currency-contemporaneity by problematizing the contextual positioning of the design space. The thesis, which is composed of two parts, conceptualizes the design space in relation to its current views and constructs the concept of contemporaneity as a contextual context for the positioning of the design space in the first part. In the second part, in the context of the research which is established on the axis oapf currency-contemporaneity it constructs the installation and the activity of the design space in context of experimental creation philoshopy. Thus, in the first part existential and contextual expansions, while in the second section structural and operational contents are provided on architectural creation in design space. In line with this contents and expansions an open information structure that allows for different structurings to grow and that provides methodical and instrumental references is created.
