Çıkış noktası mimarlığın disiplinlerarası özelliğinin vurgulanarak, mimarlık dışından iki alanın - edebiyat ve bilim kurgu- mimarlıkla nasıl ilişki kurabileceğini ve bu alanlardaki bilgi birikimlerinin birbirlerine sağlayacakları katkıları araştırmak olan bu çalışmada, mimarlık söyleminde yer alan ütopyalar ve bu ütopyalardan esinlenen bilim kurgu edebiyatına ait romanlar çalışmanın nesnelerini oluşturmuştur.Bu kapsamda çalışma boyunca Archigram'ın geleceğin kentlerine dair söylemleri ile Philip Reeve'in romanlarındaki kent söylemleri incelenerek, iki ayrı disipline ait ortak söylemsellikler irdelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak mimarlık alanındaki ve bilim kurgu edebiyatındaki bu söylemlerin arasındaki ilişkinin tartışılması ve sonucunda elde edilen verilerin bilimsel bilgiye dönüştürme potansiyelinin gösterilmesi bu çalışmanın mimarlık alanına katkısı olarak görülmektedir.

The utopias in the architectural discourse and the literary discourses from the sci-fi literature that are inspired by the utopias are the basic elements of this study which the starting point is to analyze how two different realms outside of the boundaries of architecture- literature and science fiction-interrelate with architecture and how the knowledge in these fields contributes to each other.In this context the similarities and the differences between Archigram?s cities of future from the architectural discourse and Philip Reeve?s cities in the science fiction novels from the literary discourse are discussed and by this way the similarities appearing in two different discourses are examined. As a conclusion this study focuses on discussing the relationship between architectural discourse and science fiction and showing the potential of transforming the obtained information to academic information.
