520			_aÇalışmamız 6 Ekim 1973 Arap İsrail savaşlarının son halkasından başlayarak 1978-1979 Camp David Protokollerine kadar olan süreçte gelişen Mısır-İsrail ilişkilerine ışık tutacaktır. Cemal Abdül Nasır'dan sonra Mısır'ın başına geçen Enver Sedat'ın İsrail'e karşı Ekim 1973 savaşını başlatmasındaki asıl amaç Mısır'ın 5 Haziran 1967'de kaybetmiş olduğu toprakları geri almaktı. Sedat Soğuk Savaş döneminde iki süper gücün bu savaşa müdahale edeceğini düşünerek İsrail'in tavrını yumuşatacağını düşünüyor ve savaşı diplomasi aracı olarak kullanıp Mısır'ın 1967'de kaybetmiş olduğu toprakları geri alacağını umuyordu. 1973 Savaşı'nın ritmini arttırması neticesinde Birleşmiş Milletler, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri ve Sovyet Sosyalist Cumhuriyetler Birliği'nin araya girmesi ile beraber Sedat'ın istemiş olduğu uluslararası diplomasi iki devlet arasındaki yerini bulmuştur. Araya giren uluslararası diplomasi sayesinde iki devlet arasında Cenevre Konferansı organize edilmiş bunun yanında yine iki devlet arasında I. Sina Anlaşması ve II. Sina Anlaşması imzalanmıştır. 1977'de İsrail ve Mısır liderlerinin birbirlerine düzenledikleri ziyaretler pek bir sonuç doğurmasa da İsrail ile Mısır, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri vesilesi ile 1978'de Camp David sürecine gitmiş ardından da iki devlet arasında 26 Mart 1979'da barış anlaşması imzalamıştır. Bu sayede iki devlet arasında başta siyasi ilişkiler olmak üzere sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik ilişkiler 14 Mayıs 1948'den bu yana ilk defa olumlu yönde ilerlemeye başlamıştır.
520			_aOur study will light on the Egypt and Israel political relations that developed in the process from the last of the 6 October 1973 Arab-Israel wars to the 1978-1979 Camp David protocols. The purpose of Anwar Sadat, who took over Egypt after Jamal Abdul Naser, to start the October 1973 war against Israel was to take back the lands that Egypt lost in 5 June 1967. Sadat thought that the two superpowers interfere in this war during the cold war period, and that he could soften the attitude of Israel and hoped that Egypt would take back the lands that he lost in 1967 by using the war as a tool of diplomacy. As a result of the increase in the rythm of the 1973 war, with the intervention of the United Nations, United States, and Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the international diplomacy that Sadat wanted has found its place between the two states. Thanks to intervening international diplomacy, the Geneva conference was organized between the two states, as well as the First Sinai Agreement and Second Sinai Agreement were signed between the two states. Although the visits made by Israeli and Egyptian leaders to each other in 1977 hadn't consequences, Israel and Egypt went to Camp David process on the occasion of the United States, and then a peace agreement was signed between the two states on March 26, 1979. Thus, social, cultural, and economic relations, especially political relations between the two states, staerted to advance positively for the first time since May 14, 1948.
